I merge my poetry with code on social media in an attempt to unite what I personally perceive to be the three most Important factors in my generation at this time, clarity is my best quality.. and my worst.

Opeyemi Akinrulie On Hypocrisy Of Religion.

Let me give you a quick reminder about this article(a kiss from religion) I wrote on September, 25 2016. I would only give excerpts as given below :

” Imagine a world where all religions will dwell together in unity. Imagine a world where you can be able to preach your religion to other religions. Imagine a world where laughter will live forever. When would religion stop this disastrous impersonation?.” – – Akinrulie Opeyemi Joshua . (A kiss from religion).

” When I cry, you laugh. When I laugh, you cry. This is the concept of religion.” #A kiss from religion.

In addition, I purported again, If religion is a criterion for all then, more Calamities would come to establish a canopy of religious conflicts. I have wondered about the essence of religion as related to human society. Some people have argued that the main aim of religion is to instill morality in mankind in order to act morally, yet, if that should be the case, religion has succeeded in some not in all, in other words, is religion acting as a moral agent under man’s umbrella? Or is religion a dictatorial being upon mankind? Peace won’t come except your religion can create that peace with others. Discrimination won’t take you anywhere, it will only
make you think you are dynamic whereas you are static. Stop being
dramatic, rise up and face different things because time is not

From the above views I hope you have been able to glean some facts about religion. Hence, this will take us to contemporary topic called, hypocrisy of religion. Whether we like it or not, one of the most powerful tools of oppression is religion. As some would say, you don’t belong to us,therefore, we can’t help you. Are you ready to convert because we don’t worship the same God? As a matter of fact, they have become fake by forcing the nature of God to manifest without consultation. This is the thinking of religion. Isn’t it? How about that?

Religion is a special friend to mankind in terms of enslavement. As a matter of fact, when religion is in tears some engulfed followers of her tend to be sad saying, our master is not happy. But they have forgotten that, man made religion. The questions are: Is it the case that the creature is now greater that the creator? Too much power has been given to her as we tend to worship her as if she is the source of our joy.

Are we in bondage or freedom? Religion is an epitome of disguised subjugation which is not in existence, but mankind made it a fanatical reality.Hence, religion is begging for blood. Before I delve into my views and thoughts, I will try to exempt complexity and invite simplicity for better understanding, till then, it’s very vital to take a glance at Karl’s nugget on religion.

“Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of
real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions.
It is the opium of the people.”

What purpose has religion given? Peace or war? Love or hatred? Betrayal or trust? As some people have been under the captive of religion for years, yet they have been brainwashed without any choice and even if there is a way out they still prefer to ask religion for her opinion. What would she do? Is it not to manipulate them with the use of reinforcement? Religion makes you look like a moron, you would think all your thoughts are accurate and right, but at the end, it’s the killing of oneself not to think outside the box. How would you progress?

We are protecting religion more that ourselves. Does God have a religion? If he does, then, he’s partial and if he doesn’t have, then, he’s God. If religion is of God, then, it would have been perfect. Hence, the clamor for a supervisor became a calamity for those with the mentality of religion. We have been stylishly entrapped by a commoner who has imposed her own numerous cultures on us. Who is to be faulted for the establishment of religion? As Alexander Pope puts it, We ought to blame the culture, not the soil.

Take a look at all things, are they not subjected to religion? A Muslim who probably marry a Muslim in order to continue their stewardship in Islam. This is also applicable to Christians, he or she would probably prefer a Christian. As long as we continue to wrestle with each in hatred and distrust saying, my religion is the best, especially in a country like Nigeria. How would peace reign since many are extremely fanatical? Yet, we are always lamenting to God for help but has the freewill given to us been utilized?

It’s so funny that we have underestimated the power of unity in religion rather we are concerned with our faith, in such a way that we are ready to lay down our lives. Isn’t it? It is very important to know what you are dying for because after death there is no chance to live as human, think rigorously before making any decision. No body will take or carry your cross, for all will deny you in order to face their cross. Hence, your cross can’t cross.

‘If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.’ ~Albert Einstein.

True or false👆

Is that not the case of religion? Timidity in the heart of men, to question has become a huge assignment, so religion has become a God, but is she God? What is really wrong with the perception of mankind? Has he forgotten he created her? Who has given the glory to religion? Mankind has been demoted to the level of sympathy, therefore, seeking for survival. The source is not original as she has been abased because her confidence has been compromised.

I will put it this way, everything that looks funny is an avenue for religion to strike, she utilizes all means to penetrate into our world. For us, we would think it’s a normal thing for what we have created to dwell and have predominance. We would say, we are proud of our product . But, this is not the matter of the product, but the confusion and destruction the product has brought must be dealt with.

Religion has enthroned herself as an everlasting king which she has vowed to remain for life. Who gave her the mantle? The creature has betrayed her creator, she has decided to erase the spiritual world, how possible is that? Yet, we would rejoice and jubilate as if religion is God sent. If X is sent by God, why should X be destructive? I strongly believe there is an architect whose intelligence is extreme and Supreme, if you want to know, let death show you. But, I have not gone there. Have you?

We have committed many things on God, thus, this has activated our unseriousness. I am not saying he’s not capable, at times we need to put in place the logical thinking that has been bestowed on us by him for his manifestation. We have aligned our ways with religion which shouldn’t be. At the end, we would say, it’s the case of predestination whereas we created a disease without an antidote.

Religion has realized she’s hypocritical, she embarked on a journey seeking for refuge after she had caused a lot of problems. Yet, mankind is fighting because of her, not knowing she left this world a long time ago. If you have questions about her location, kindly contact the right channel within you.

“If I were religion I would arrest myself and surrender my whole to the creator, so that peace will reign.”– Opeyemi Akinrulie.

Opeyemi Olawaye On Hypocrisy Of Religion.

The highest societal matters arising in our contemporary society nowadays are religious inclined; ‘Religiosity’ without religion is a great challenge to a nation building in a seeming religious nation like Nigeria. It appears that the higher the number of religions in a nation, the more compounding, degenerating and endemic the social vices therein.

Before I go deep into this breathtaking and stellar topic “Hypocrisy of Religion”, I would like to break down and give some meaningful definitions of
religion and as well the hypocrisy

Some definitions of religion
“Religion is said to be the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods and as well a pursuit or interest followed with great devotion and also a social system of designated behaviours and practices, morals, worldviews, texts, prophecies, ethics, or organizations, that relates humanity to supernatural or spiritual elements –Oxford dictionary.”

By religion, then, I understand a propitiation or conciliation of powers superior to man which are believed to direct and control the course of nature and human life’’-James George Frazer.

According to Paul Tillich,Religion is the state of being grasped by an ultimate concern, a concern which qualifies all other concerns as preliminary and which itself contains the answer to the question of the meaning of life.

Religion, like culture, is a symbolic transformation of experience. ’Thomas F. O.dea. And we also have some major types of religion we practice in our world today.
Types of religion:

According to Wikipedia, Hypocrisy is the contrivance of a false appearance of virtue of goodness, while concealing real character or inclinations, especially with respect to religious and moral beliefs; hence, in a general sense, hypocrisy may involve dissimulation, pretense, or a sham.
And below are some bible definitions of hypocrisy:
i.Announcing that you will be giving aid to the needy Matt 6:2
ii.Public praying for others to see Matt 6:5
iii.Honoring God with words without placing him in importance Matt 15:7

Hypocrisy is a word we like to throw around a lot in this country, whether we are discussing athletes doping, celebrities who are full of it or any other person who genuinely talks out of both ends of their mouth.
But, without question in my mind, the biggest hypocrites are not only in our country, but the world today, are organized sects of religion and the people who associate with them.
Now let me clear a few things up.

I personally don’t think religion is a bad thing and I also think you don’t have to be religious before you practice hypocrisy but at the same time let me focus on the topic, in order not to contradict myself and have a baseless points since the hypocrisy named above focused and talked on religion.

Just like in a song written by one of the most popular Nigerian artists “Falz” titled Hypocrisy, he talked about all the sectors in which hypocrisy affects our country today and some of the lines in the chorus stated “everybody is into hypocrisy, that even some people want to reap where they don’t sow” and also stated further “people act like they don’t breath, why some act like they are inhuman and have super powers”.

Falz the bad guy, I grew up in a religious household; I was baptized Anglican and raised as a non-denominational Christian.
There were some churches I love going to when growing up and others I despised, I have life-long friends I met in Sunday school, and also people I would never associate myself with. As I got older, I attend Anglican but I realized organized religion wasn’t for me but don’t quote me wrong, I never said anything is wrong attending Anglican or any other churches around but I feel if I wanted a relationship with God, I wanted it to be personal and at the same time doesn’t define me as a pagan.

I didn’t feel I had to go to some big ornate building to be told I was a heathen, and then eat a cracker and some grape juice and all of a sudden be told am forgiven because I feel most people take it every other time and still go back to same sin, which is deceitfulness according to Psalm 26:4, and hypocrisy in religion is when you know I sin and you still judge me in front of so many other people.
I’ve sat in the stands and watched as my pastor made people cringe in their chairs as they are faced with coming to terms with their own morality.
Nothing is out of bounds at this church, and nothing is too taboo to discuss.

This pastor knows that we can pretend all we want, but at the end of the day, we are all human and we all face the same temptations and contemplate the same internal dialogue.

With the definitions of both religion and hypocrisy, religious leaders are meant to be the epitome of goodness and morality, and they are supposed to live lives worthy of emulation but we are in a world today where a religious leader preach against smoking but at the corner of is room, he practice what he preached against. Religion is infested with hypocrisy and also religious leaders are with hypocritical characters that are corrupt, greedy and immoral. All religions, in their pure form, will tell you God is love. And power, fear, division, judgment, oppression, hatred and self-righteousness are the opposite of love. So going to war, for example, in the name of religion, is a complete contradiction. No pure religious leader would ever support this.

Odebiyi Oluwatosin On Hypocrisy Of Religion.

Hypocrisy is a word we like to throw around in this country, whether we’re discussing infidelity amongst artists,or celebrities who are full of it or any other person who genuinely talks out of both ends of their mouth.
But, without question in my mind, the biggest hypocrite is not only our country, but the world, where we have organized sects of religion and the people who associate themselves with them.
Now let me clear a few things up👇👇

I do not believe religion is a thing of negativity, religion is a highly functional value system that operates with more finesse than even the leadership of most countries,I sought out the opinions of a few of my colleagues, and from what I gathered, their collective response led to a final thesis being that “religion functions as a systematic barrier that organises the body of Christ or rather the church“, and in doing so some say, religion has become a barrier to the spiritual activities that should occur in a place of worship, and this led me to arrive at a relatively complicated question, why are spiritual expressions frowned upon by numerous denominations? Why are there limits placed on the kind of conversations we hold with one another in religious environments? Why are people set against pastors or ministers that are liberal ministers that have delivered messages that made people cringe in their chairs as they’re faced with coming to terms with their own morality?

I personally believe nothing related to Christianity or topics on morality should be out of bounds at a place of worship, and nothing should be too taboo to discuss. I believe pastors should know that we can pretend all we want, but at the end of the day, we are all human, and we all face the same temptations and contemplate the same internal dialogue.

The hypocrisy of religion is a topic most individuals deem to delicate for criticism, in an article I read not too long ago,the writer recounted a disappointing experience he had with his church and I quote:

“On Sunday, January 15, my church became one of the only Christian churches in the country, and as far as I know, the only church in the South, to open their arms to homosexual brethren.
We’ve never turned away gays, lesbians or any person who identified as anything other than heterosexual away, but now, it was official. This caused such an uproar among the congregation that approximately half of them decided this church was no longer the place they would come to worship the man who said:

JOHN 13: 34-35
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciple, if you have love for one another.”
The people who are outraged — who, in their own right, are broken souls — couldn’t be bothered to share this house of God with people with slightly different beliefs”.Reading this led me to an understanding, that despite the moral code and structure that religion may provide, it still serves as a barrier between individuals and as an inhibitor to what people may wish to share with other members of the congregation.”

The hypocrisy of religion is fueled by numerous factors, yet it remains tremendously functional and here are three reasons why I believe religion despite its advantages is still detrimental to my relationship with God
1. Religion is a business:
and that business is successful and it’s not difficult to see why untaxed land, untaxed contributions, constant funding from its members and as a certain friend of mine liked to point out “heavy donations from the churches back bones”,”back bones” meaning wealthy members of the church, growing up I always questioned where the money was all going to, and as I grew older I got to understand the purpose of tithes and how it was different from the offering we gave every other Sunday, and yes,a lot of it goes to work improvements on the physical church, and a lot goes into funding various charitable programs, but where does the rest go? Who’s in charge of making sure all these millions, if not billions of naira of funds donated annually are 100 percent allocated properly?

The truth is, the majority of people involved with handling these funds are good honest people, but for every five hundred good worker who just do an honest day’s work, there’s one or two amongst them ready to take us for every kobo under the guise of the lord.

2. People don’t practice what they preach.
You can’t be a heathen all week, then eat a cracker on Sunday and pretend everything is all right. One of the things that bothered me growing up in the church was youth groups.

Now, in theory it’s a great idea, getting young people involved in a relationship with God by making religion fun, playing games, singing songs, etc. However, in my experience, all what youth groups did was show young people how to “act holy” without taking any of it to heart.
I saw people leading prayer groups and playing songs about Jesus, who I knew, for a fact, were doing drugs and having sex, and all the other things we were trying to prevent at these groups.

So, all this experience provided was practice for those people who think it’s important to have a veil, a religious “facade” if you will, to present to those around them.
All these retreats were simply allowing these people to get better at faking it, until only those who truly knew them discovered who they were.
Now this doesn’t mean if you’re not perfect you shouldn’t associate yourself with the church; religion is about forgiveness, but it’s also about trying to improve.
If you simply show up because people expect you to, you’re not participating in the process.

3. A relationship with God doesn’t need to take place in a building.
Considering how I am constantly hearing about how the moral standards of our society are in the toilet, it baffles me how many churches are still around, and how many more are constantly being built.
It’s kind of like porn (stay with me for a second): No one will admit to watching it, but the numbers don’t lie; the porn industry is right up there with oil, Apple and, well, the church, as some of the biggest money makers around. So, if all these churches exist and stay open, we must assume holy people are attending them. But, if everyone is going to church, where is all this societal degradation coming from?

The point is, you don’t have to go to a building once a week for an hour in order to be a good Christian, Catholic, Muslim or whatever. We see all these people going, but what does it change? There’s still war, famine, porn; the only thing it does is continue to put money in church pockets as we try to buy our way out of “moral debt.”

” For two consecutive years in my life I followed the path of numerous people around me in an attempt to improve myself and majorly so I didn’t come across as impure or defective, but the truth is, I am impure, I’m not perfect and I’m certainly not the best human being in general but I do want to be the best that I can be and so I made a decision to ignore the crippling expectations set by my own peers and it also led me to understand that now is the defining moment of the young religious generation, and if you follow in the footsteps of men who aren’t into religion to keep up with appearances and are actually interested in a relationship with God and not the festivities of it, you might just have a chance to save that which matters most to you.”

Since the mind has been engulfed by religion. When would peace defeat war?— Opeyemi Akinrulie.
